1) Since I am not assigning a problem set this weekend, you might want to spend time refamiliarizing yourselves with your basic econometrics materials. To that end, please read the Appendix to Chapter 1 in the text. You should also consider logging onto the web page for the text (link is above) and do the Econometric Exercise for Chapter 1. I will alert you when to do further exercises and these will be very useful to you in preparing for your semester projects.
2) For those that want to do practice questions, I recommend the review problems from Chapter 1 (#1, 2, 3, 5, 6 and 7) and the from Chapter 2 (#2, 5, 7, 8 and 10). #8 appeared on an old exam of mine.

Textbooks are now available for purchase in the campus bookstore. The text is Modern Labor Economics (9th edition) by Ehrenberg and Smith. New copies can be purchased for the low price of $136.50 while used copies are available for $102.50.
You can also find new paperback international editions at Half.com for anywhere between $89.00 and $105.00 and new at Amazon for $129.20 or used (it's a brand new edition, so I don't see how this is likely) for $104.00.
